True Value (not just a hardware store!)

Hello folks!  Obviously, I haven't been around for a while.  I'd love to say that I've been vacationing in the French Riviera, or undertaken writing my novel (because, yes, I do have one in the works!), but both of those would be lies.  I've been here, at home, not really doing anything.  Well, I have been spending a little too much time on Pinterest, but technically that's not doing anything.  Truth is, I just needed to take a break.  My former posts were beginning to be very complain-y and whiny, as a reflection of how I was feeling about life.  I had been struggling with the nasty little sentiment known as 'dissatisfaction,' and the blog wasn't the only area of my life that had started turning a little sour because of it.

I won't launch into a lot of detail, but the negative spiral I've been in for the past few months finally culminated in a broken laptop. It may or may not have been forcibly pushed off the coffee table, resulting in a shattered screen.  Honestly, even though this act was born out of anger, it may have been a good thing.  It forced me to stop denying that there was something more going on than just "being in a bad mood (all the time!)."  It made me ask the question, "What's really going on here?"  It made me re-evaluate.

The fact is, I am redeemed.  I am loved by God more than I could ever really understand.  That, in and of itself, is more than enough reason to "rejoice in [Him] always."  On top of that, He blessed me with a wonderful, loving husband that loves me in spite of my moods, and a beautiful little girl that manages to surprise me every day with how incredibly smart and adorable she is.   Although my place in life may not be seen as valuable by the world's standards, God is the one that determines true value.  I may not earn a paycheck, but I'm loved by God.  I may not be able to afford new clothes all the time, but I'm infinitely blessed.  My life may not be filled with adventure, but I'm a child of God who lives with the promise of Heaven.

I promise I'll start up again with regular posts, including outfit shots, in the near future.  Until then, I'd love to make a request of you, my dear readers.  To steal the title of an old song, Count your Blessings.  Stop for a moment and make a list of everything God has blessed you with.  Feel free to share with me in the comments what you came up with!
